Welcome, we are glad you decided to join us. Here is a little initial information to get you started.

New Members Support

Meet and greet members will be available to meet with you at the monthly meetings to answer any questions you may have and guide you towards joining interest groups. Look for the Recent Members table.

Monthly Meetings are for all members and their guests (£2 for non-members)

We have a different visiting speaker each month with a great variety of topics covered. Before and after the talk you can visit the desks set up around the room which include some Group sign up desks and especially for you, the Recent Members desk! Light refreshments are available and included. Dates and details are on the “Events” page. Please remember to bring your membership card along with you.

Other ad hoc meetings/talks open to all

These might be just for Ware u3a, jointly with other u3as or arranged by the national u3a. Details of these will appear on the “Events” page.

Groups

Our groups are organised by members for members with the help of our Groups Coordinator, Debbie Rudgley, if required. Each group has a "leader" who manages the group and liaises with the Groups Co-ordinator. You can browse the current list on the “Groups” page and if you are interested in a particular group, you should make contact with the Group leader in the first instance as numbers are sometimes limited by space at venues, especially when meeting in members' homes, and there may be other constraints.

If you have an interest you would like to pursue that is not currently on our list, or the current group is full, let us know and we will consider starting a new group or maybe you would like to start a group yourself.

Excursions - open to all

Whilst some groups arrange their own outings, other trips are open to all on a first come first served basis. These include day trips, garden visits, holidays and more. They are listed on the "Events" page.

Newsletters and Updates

Keith Pullinger, our Chair, and John Hammond, Beacon Administrator, often send out newsletters and updates with information about what is happening in Ware u3a, groups with vacancies, new groups starting up and so on. Newsletters are available on the website.
